Supplies

To get started you will need to get some simple supplies. I find mine at craft stores, estate sales, and/or amazon when I’m in a pinch.

Start your project!

Sewing Needles

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Embroidery Hoop

These come in many different shapes and sizes. Make sure your hoop aligns and screws tight.

Thread

There are a plethora of different embroidery thread brands out there. I enjoy using DMC because they have high quality thread in many beautiful colors.

Woven Materials

To start I recommend woven fabrics so you don’t get any puckering like you would on a knit/jersey fabric.

Water soluble Marker

These markers are great! Once you complete your embroidery just rinse your work in water and let dry. Your markings will be completely gone.

Embroidery Scissors

Embroidery scissors are smaller and sharper than your average kitchen scissors. I recommend them for getting as close to your project as possible and snipping excess strings.
